During a wedding in the province of Nineveh (Iraq), a fire occurred, which killed 100 people. This was reported by the regional health department.
“According to preliminary data, 100 deaths and more than 150 injuries were recorded as a result of a fire in a wedding hall in Al Hamdaniya,” – it says in INA material. Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani instructed the ministers of interior and health to monitor the provision of assistance to those affected by the fire.
It is noted that in the hall where the ceremonial event was held, fire safety requirements were not observed. Previously, the fire could have been caused by the use of fireworks. It is not yet known whether the bride and groom are among the victims of the fire.
