Luana Andrade broke through in the reality series Power Couple Brasil 6 together with her boyfriend João Hadad last year.
After her participation, she quickly became a well-known profile and reached over half a million followers on Instagram.
Last Tuesday, Luana Andrade was undergoing liposuction at a hospital in the Brazilian city of São Paulo when she suddenly suffered severe complications.
According to E News, which refers to local newspaper Globo, she went into cardiac arrest two and a half hours into the surgical procedure. She was revived by medical personnel and transferred to the intensive care unit, where she later died.
Boyfriend’s words: “Devastated”
In a statement from the hospital, the cause of death was said to have been a blood clot in her lung – a fatal complication that can occur in rare cases during liposuction surgery.
In a post on Instagram, João Hadad now mourns the death of his girlfriend.
“I am devastated and living my worst nightmare. A part of me has left me,” he writes on Instagram according to E News.
“It is with immense sadness and with much pain that I say goodbye to my Launa, my princess, my beauty”he continues.
