An innocent child’s play turned into a tragedy, a little girl lost her life (Source: YouTube/WPLG Local 10)
FLORIDA – Children’s games on the sandy beach ended in tragedy. A pair of children, according to witnesses, a brother and a sister aged 8 and 7, decided to dig the biggest possible hole in the sand on the beach. But no one knew that their innocent game would turn into a horror.
The siblings managed to dig a hole almost 2 meters deep. However, the sand suddenly overwhelmed them while digging and literally buried them alive. While the boy was buried up to his chest when emergency services were called, there was no sign of the girl.
Adults on the beach and in the surrounding area were digging with their hands and shovels before the rescuers arrived, but they could not find the girl. When the called firefighters found her, she was under the sand for approximately fifteen minutes. The video captures rescue workers carrying children into ambulances. While the boy was saved and remains in the hospital in a stable condition, the girl was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
The huge tragedy caused a strong reaction on social networks. The local sheriff’s office is currently investigating the incident.
