A video clip showed shocking moments that ended in tragedy for a suspect who stole a police car in the US state of California.
The suspect can be seen in the video, which was published by the network.ABCAl-Akhbariya, as he was driving a police car on a California highway, before opening the door and throwing himself out of the car when it was traveling at 45 mph (72 kph).
As soon as he fell from the car, the suspect’s head hit the ground hard, while the car continued to drive for several meters before it hit an electric pole and stopped.
Moments later, the policemen arrived at the suspect and carried him to the side of the road in an attempt to save him at the scene of the accident, before he was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Police said the incident began when a police officer responded to a call about a crash in the Santa Clarita area, but the suspect somehow managed to jump into the cop’s car and steal it.
Officials stated that the suspect brandished a hunting rifle and an assault weapon at the policeman, indicating that he was suffering from mental health problems.
