A 61-year-old woman jumped into the void yesterday from a building historic of apartments on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, across from the famous American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), across the street from the New-York Historical Society (NYHS) and next to Central Park, the NYPD said.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was discovered unresponsive in front of a 15-story apartment building on West 77th Street between Columbus and Central Park West avenues around 5:30 a.m. Friday, authorities said. .
Investigators determined that he appeared to have voluntarily jumped from the building, but it is unclear if he lived there. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
