The hot news from France could not even be exhaled and it is already being invented by potential siblings. What could the fastback look like for other members of the Stellantis, Fiat and Opel groups?

Peugeot came up with the 408 model (the European one) with an unusual fastback design, which attracted attention immediately after the performance. Could it be a help for the whole of Stellantis, in which models is it worth investing time and money within the concern? It is too early for that, the decisive factor is always sales. However, Brazilian designer Kleber Silva, known as KDesign AG, did not hesitate to create models that could follow the Peugeot 408 in the future.
Silva took inspiration for the model names from the history of both brands. In the case of Fiat, he chose the name Dune. Fiat Duna was manufactured between 1985 and 2000 in Brazil and Argentina. So we understand that the Brazilian designer reached for this name.
In the case of Opel, he chose the name Monza, which is a slightly more familiar name for Europeans. The Opel Monza was a fastback that was produced between 1978 and 1986. The model was supposed to be a “hammer” on well-established luxury models of the German brands BMW and Mercedes, but it did not do very well.

The carmaker has even resurrected this name once, in 2013, when the concept of the same name was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The then concept arrived in the shooting brake variant with a hybrid drive system. As we already know, Monza did not see serial production in this version.
In the case of Silva’s renderings, it is basically just a matter of transferring the current design language of Fiat and Opel to the shapes of the new Peugeot 408. Fastback from Fiat would need a little more work, but Opel’s bodywork fastback is quite nice. In today’s world of sharing chassis, engines and many other components, these renders are not unrealistic ideas.
