Traffic chaos after two trams collided head-on in Oslo

– Two trams have collided head-on. Possible cause of the accident is that a switch has been wrong, says operations manager Christian Krohn Engeseth.

The trams were on schedule, but none of the passengers were injured in the incident.

– No one was reported injured and the passengers were taken out of the carriages, Engeseth says.

It is currently uncertain how large the material damage is.

The accident leads to traffic challenges on site.

– It has been reported that there are some traffic challenges. Choose an alternative route around the large intersection if you can, urges the operations manager.

At 12.15 the police had to close Grefsenveien in both directions in connection with the salvage of one tram.
