Motorists who have to go to IJburg will have to drive via the A1 instead of the A10. This is due to an accident on the IJburglaan.
Two cars collided there around 9:15 p.m. It appears that none of the occupants need to be taken to hospital, but one of them has been checked by an ambulance nurse.
Exit S114, from the A10 East towards IJburg, is also closed. That was still the case around 11 p.m. It is not known when the closures will be lifted. The island is now only accessible from the A1 via the Benno Premsela Bridge.
According to Denk councilor Süleyman Koyuncu, the accident shows that IJburg is difficult to reach in the event of an emergency. He previously asked the mayor and aldermen to draw attention to it, but unfortunately saw no action.
