Traffic Accident, Fatal Accident | A 62-year-old man from Rana died in the traffic accident on E6

At 1645, the emergency services were notified of a traffic accident between a lorry and a van on E6, approx. 6 km north of Selfors. The driver of the van was trapped, but was released quickly and transported to the hospital at Mo i Rana by ambulance.

At 1842, the police received a report from a doctor at the hospital that the driver, a 62-year-old man from Rana, had been declared dead. This is what the police in Nordland write in a press release.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the lorry, which was driving south, had been hit by the trailer. The van driving north therefore hit the trailer on the train. The reason why the train was thrown is not known, but technical investigations have been made of the line on site.

– The police have carried out a technical investigation on the spot, as well as conducted interrogations of witnesses and drivers of lorries. There is no suspicion of per mille. The accident group of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has been notified and is on site. The Accident Investigation Board Norway has also been notified of the accident, says operations manager Ulf Slettan.

The relatives have been notified. The crisis team from Rana municipality is engaged to assist the relatives. Has also assisted the driver of the lorry, which is strongly affected by the accident.
