Toyota has declassified the mysterious crossover, the interest in which has long been fueled by many teasers. The new Corolla Cross SUV shown is designed for the North American market. This crossover is already sold in several other countries, but the American version has some important specifications, including a new engine.
The main innovation is the all-wheel drive system. This modification of the Corolla Cross is equipped with multi-point suspension. American customers will also be offered a version of the crossover with front-wheel drive.

The all-terrain vehicle for the US market is equipped with a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine. The power of the unit is 171 horsepower and 203 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with the Direct Shift variator.
In other markets, the engine range is represented by a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 140 hp. (175 Nm of torque) acting together with the variator.
In addition, the crossover comes with a hybrid power unit consisting of a 100-horsepower gasoline engine, electric motor and battery.
The car will be manufactured at Mazda Toyota’s Alabama plant. The start of production is planned for the end of this year.
Prices for the new representative of the most popular model of the Japanese brand are not known yet.
