From October 1 to 14, more than 198,000 artisans and collaborating spouses in the region are called upon to elect their representatives to the Regional Chamber of Trades and Crafts and its chambers at departmental level, the first interlocutor of public and political authorities.
In the context of this election, the movement ” Proud to be craftsmen »Launched his electoral campaign in the Var in the presence of representatives of the professional federations that make it up. Thus, for Valérie Marrone, head of the list “Proud to be craftsmen” in the Var, “ it is imperative that the Chamber of Trades defend and represent all craftsmen. It must occupy a central role in the complex daily life of the craft business and better support it in all stages of its life from its creation, its development and finally its transmission. But the Chamber of Trades and Crafts, it is also a tool of animation and dynamization of the territories which must implement an ambitious professional policy for the craft industry. ».
A CAPITAL CHALLENGE
Established to support the development of craft businesses, the Chambers of Trades are essential and the public authorities have reaffirmed that they must reinvent themselves to fully play the role that the law has assigned to them. They are also the interlocutors of governments in matters of craftsmanship.
For his part, Jean-Jacques Castillon, president of the Federation du BTP 83, insists: ” However, it is clear that the Chambers of Trades and Crafts suffer from a lack of image and recognition on the part of craftsmen. They represent a major stake for professional organizers like ours who play a crucial role of representation, support and defense of companies in their profession, but who are not always present in the territories, nor mandatory. “
UNION WITH CPME
For the record, the Fédération du BTP du Var, which leads the way of the French Building Federation in the department, has long been involved in this election. Already in 1999, it presented a list and obtained elected representatives in the Building category.
“This year, the union with the CPME takes on an unequaled scale at the regional level and throughout the country. Even if it has existed since 2010 in the Var, this dynamic allows us more than ever to foresee a favorable outcome and allows us to believe in the final victory and the reversal of the balance of power with the current governance. We believe that the ballot will make it possible to elect a majority of representatives from the “Proud to be Craftsmen” list and that our movement will become the majority within the network of CMAs in the Var, the South region and in France. “Proud to be Craftsmen” and its components will then be able to become the main interlocutor of the State on all questions relating to craftsmanship and influence the reorganization of the CMA network to put craftsmen back at the heart of its action “, concludes Jean-Jacques Castillon.
