Roma captain Francesco Totti, the former Liverpool and Gelarossian star, Mohamed Salah, has spoken of, noting that he did not expect the Egyptian pharaoh to be crowned in the European Champions League.
Salah had previously played for Roma next to Totti before Al-Masry moved to Liverpool at the start of the 2017/2018 season.
During comments to DAZN, Totti said: “Salah is a world-class player, he can change the outcome of the match at any time.”
Totti added: “I did not expect Salah to win the Champions League, if he continued with Roma, so I think it was impossible to achieve this, but after his departure from the club and his transfer to a team that wins titles, he had more chances.”
“I am happy for Salah, because he is a golden and exceptional boy, who has made a remarkable leap in his career that no one expected after moving from Rome to Liverpool,” said the retired Roma captain.
Salah helped crown the Reds in the 2019 Champions League after defeating Tottenham in the final match with two goals without a response.
It is worth noting that “Moo” wore the Roma shirt between August 2015 to July 2017, and participated in 83 games with the Gelarossi in various championships, scored 34 goals and made 22 assists.
