Tottenham battling London rivals for £ 30m successor to Lloris – EzAnime.net

Tottenham have identified Nick Pope as a possible replacement for Hugo Lloris, but he appears to face competition from a Premier League rival.

Lloris has been Tottenham’s main goalkeeper since joining them in 2012. He has served as the club’s captain since 2015.

However, the Frenchman may be nearing the end of his Tottenham career. He’s out of contract at the end of the 2021-22 season.

So the Spurs may consider selling it in the summer to avoid losing it for free. They are unlikely to get a huge fee for a 34 year old, but something may be better than nothing.

Lloris has fans in her native France. Paris Saint-Germain has been strongly linked, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino eager to meet the goalkeeper in the French capital.

Lloris has received some criticism recently, leaving Tottenham with a difficult decision to make. If they could find a suitable replacement, they could allow number one to move on.

According to The Daily Mail, they may have found their next ideal shot stopper. Burnley’s goalkeeper Pope is at the top of his wish list.

Pope has been one of the most prominent goalkeepers in the Premier League since ascending to the first-choice spot at Turf Moor.

An injury prevented him from playing in the 2018-19 Premier League, but since recovering, he has only missed one of 63 possible games in the past two seasons.

Now a regular on the England team, even if he’s not the first choice for his country, Pope has been linked with a move to a bigger club.

It is now claimed that Tottenham has identified him as an ideal successor to Lloris. Pope would cost in the region of £ 30 million.

Burnley still has him under contract until 2023, with the option of one more year. But at the age of 28, it may be an ideal time for Pope to step forward in his career.

West Ham wants the Pope too

However, Tottenham is not the only London club to follow Pope. The report also adds that West Ham is interested.

West Ham currently have Lukasz Fabianski as their first choice, but he will be 36 at the end of the season. Therefore, they may be looking for a longer-term option.

Pope is apparently on their radar too, as they plan to build for the future.
