The Swiss healthcare system has a problem: the costs are rising steadily. The doctors in the hospitals are in a key position because they decide on treatments, operations, therapies, care and medication. Your decisions drive the system.
Urs Klingler, management consultant and expert on remuneration in the healthcare sector, assumes that the chief physicians earn between CHF 350,000 and 1,500,000 as top earners. Many of them are employed in such a way that there are false incentives: the more they operate, the more they earn thanks to additional fees. So you have a personal interest in rising health costs, which then have to be paid by the premium payer, among other things.
