Top referee Kevin Blom will repay thousands of euros | Football

sport">Blom became the center of a financial row in referee land at the end of last year. Blom, good for almost 150 international matches all over the globe and still active for the KNVB and as a VAR at UEFA, was accused by several people of having claimed an amount of approximately 7,000 euros in controversial costs and for more than Would have paid 29,000 euros in own lawyer fees from the association’s coffers.

sport">Blom disputed the anonymous allegations and spoke in this newspaper of ‘a storm in a glass of water that has now become a hurricane.’

sport">But the board has now informed all referees in professional football (the members) that Blom must pay back most of his previously declared costs and is willing to do so.

sport">“On the basis of all the documents, the conversations with Kevin, former board members and the cash control committee, we have reached an equally-minded final verdict. We made this final verdict known to Kevin in a constructive conversation, ”the board writes. “To our satisfaction,” the BSBV continues, “this has led to the desired agreement, the result of which is that a substantial amount of the invoice concerned (attorney’s fees) flows back into the association’s coffers.”
