Tonight press conference about relaxation, you can expect this

Outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and outgoing Minister Hugo de Jonge will give another press conference tonight at 7 p.m., in which the relaxations will be announced. This press conference can be followed live on RTL 4 and via our site and app.

Because of the falling infection rates and the fact that there are fewer and fewer corona patients in hospitals and intensive care units can be relaxed earlier than previously predicted. A few things have already become known about these relaxations in recent days. An overview:

Mondkapjesplicht

It was a hot topic, but the mouth cap obligation will most likely be relaxed next Saturday. People will then no longer have to wear face masks from June 26, except in public transport and at the airport.

The Outbreak Management Team has advised the cabinet on this. This advice will probably be adopted

One and a half meters

The famous one and a half meter rule will still apply for the time being. People must keep their distance from each other until at least mid-August.

Visit home

The advice now applies to receive a maximum of 4 people per day, as of June 26 this will be expanded to 8 people. Children up to and including 12 years old are not included.

Catering open longer

Cafés and restaurants can stay open longer from next Saturday. At the moment, the catering industry still has to close its doors at 22:00, later this will be midnight.

More visitors

Restaurants are also allowed to receive more guests. The maximum number of guests goes to 100 people.

Theaters and cinemas can also receive more visitors

Clubs and discos open

Discos and nightclubs can also open their doors again as of June 26, but visitors must take a corona test in advance. They are only allowed in if it is negative.

To the office

The advice to work from home as much as possible is partly cancelled. If people can keep enough distance from their colleagues at their workplace, they can go back to the office. If keeping your distance is not successful, the advice remains in force to work from home as much as possible.

Events

It was previously announced that major events may be organized from June 30. However, there are a number of rules: visitors must show a corona test that is no more than 40 hours old, or proof that they have been vaccinated or have already had corona. They do not have to keep their distance and do not have to wear a mouth cap.

Events may also receive a maximum of 25,000 visitors, and the event may not last longer than 24 hours.

The cabinet also wants to extend the extension to other sectors, such as sports competitions and the catering industry.

Basic rules

The basic rules, such as keeping your distance and staying home in case of complaints, will remain in force for the time being.
