How does your wife Rita Wilson, a breast cancer survivor who survived Corona, manage to stay so positive and still make music?
My wife finds her inner strength in her pure happiness. She loves to write music, sing, create. What she has accomplished in the past 10 years is comparable to the Beatles and Carly Simon. It is sometimes tiring for me, but it cannot be stopped. So I wear the lip gloss back and tell her where she put her cell phone.
Let’s talk about your new work, “Greyhound”, a war film on the high seas in which you play a captain again, the savior again. What attracts you to such roles?
There’s a kind of film that attracts me, that’s right. And not just as an actor, but also as a spectator. Of course, I also played roles like Robert Langdon in the “Da Vinci Code”, an adventure that makes it easy for us to escape reality for two hours. But I go to the theater, I read a book and I like to think. I’ll be 64 in a week and I still want to be challenged. From the films that I make and those that I see.
