Ggood evening, it can go that fast. Offenbach has been a “hotspot” since Sunday according to the stricter Corona rules for Hesse. Among other things, there is a ban on alcohol in busy places and a mask requirement in pedestrian zones. Dance halls, clubs, discos and brothels have to close. When visiting a restaurant, the 2-G-plus rule applies to the interior, which not only requires proof of vaccination or recovery, but also a daily negative test. In the open air, for example on restaurant terraces, the 2-G rule still applies (visit as fully vaccinated or convalescent). As soon as the incidence in a rural district or in an independent city is higher than 350 on three consecutive days, “hotspot regulations” apply there from the next day. In Offenbach, the incidence on Sunday was 372.8.

It is well known what can prevent such values. It is prudent behavior and, most importantly, vaccination. There are many ways to get vaccinated, in the Rheingau, for example, it goes through gastronomy: At the Rußler winery in Rauenthal, guests could order schnitzel at the weekend and the offers from Moderna and BioNTech. Oliver Bock was there. In Frankfurt, the Ahmadiyya community opened its community hall for those willing to vaccinate at the weekend. Thousands came, reports Monika Ganster.
Hope dies last, luckily, even with fastnights and carnivalists. The big moves in Mainz, Frankfurt and Seligenstadt have been canceled. But the fools don’t want to give up completely yet. Many continue to plan. In Flörsheim, for example, where, in consultation with the authorities, a semi-subversive night-and-fog action took place last February, with four floats and a dozen active members of the local jester club who briefly showed up on the streets. How that created a good mood, how the mood is in foolish circles at the moment: Daniel Meuren and Markus Schug wrote it down.
