Today: Donate blood in WERK 2! – News from Leipzig

Looking for a New Year’s resolution that you can easily implement for a change? Sure, donate blood at the #UKL – and in this way the #life saving for a seriously ill person! One of the next opportunities to do this good deed in our halls is almost like Santa Claus at the door:

Almost everyone over the age of 18 who weighs at least 50 kilograms and feels healthy is eligible as a blood donor. Simply by phone 0341- 97 25 393 Arrange your personal donation appointment or use the appointment request form on the blood bank website.

As a small thank you, after your blood donation, you will receive a voucher for a LEIPZIG FOR FRIENDS 2-to-1 advantage card, with which you and a second person can get “2 benefits for 1” from over 90 partners in Leipzig and the surrounding area. The card is valid for 12 months, the start of the term can be freely selected.

By the way, something on our own behalf: blood donors from the UKL receive an expense allowance after the donation. If you want to help twice with your “voluntary bloodletting”, you can donate this compensation to WERK 2. As a Leipzig cultural institution with tradition, we have been fighting for survival since the beginning of the #corona pandemic – and every euro therefore helps us a lot to defy this crisis and to be able to continue to be there for you with many events in the future.

Entry requirements: On January 6th, you can Donate blood if you have been vaccinated or recovered less than 180 days ago or if your last certified antigen test was performed <24 hours before the appointment. On-site testing will be possible. Please bring your vaccination or convalescence status or test certificate and of course your identity card with you. It is also mandatory to wear a mask and distance regulations apply throughout the entire site. You can find more information under Coronainfos Bluspende We look forward to your visit!

You can get more information about donating blood from the @uniklinikumleipzig blood bank by phone 0341 97 25393 or under www.blutbank-leipzig.de

What do you get from a blood donation? First of all, you can be proud of yourself, because you are helping a seriously ill person in a very difficult life situation! Furthermore, every blood donation is of course examined very carefully for various (blood-borne) infectious diseases. These include HIV (AIDS), sexually transmitted diseases (syphilis) and hepatitis B, C (forms of jaundice).

As part of the medical examination, your vital parameters such as blood pressure and pulse are measured and the Hb value (proportion of the red blood pigment) is determined. All in all, there is also a free health check for you when you donate blood.

We are looking forward to your support.

When: Thursday, January 6, 2022 | 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Plant II, Hall D, Kochstr. 132 04277 #Leipzig
