NEW YORK | The sky of Times Square is ablaze with a thousand colors of fireworks marking New York’s transition to the New Year 2019.
It was in the cold and rain that thousands of New Yorkers celebrated the arrival of the New Year with a gigantic firework display and the traditional descent of the luminous ball at the iconic Times Square crossroads, only warmed by the performances by Christina Aguilera, Sting and Snoop Dogg.

Around the neuralgic perimeter, security was at its maximum. Snipers were stationed on the roofs of the skyscrapers and 7,000 uniformed police officers were deployed on the ground: nothing was left to chance to secure this meeting point.
