Tips for Overcoming Joint Pain After Being Infected With Covid-19 : Okezone Lifestyle

PART survivor Covid-19 complains of joint or muscle pain that lasts longer than a month. This condition can be arthritis or arthritis, according to Rheumatologist from India Dr. Parikshit Sagdeo.

“In Covid-19 patients, most of the drugs to treat rheumatoid arthritis are used, so, many people, including clinicians, consider Covid-19 cured patients to be safe from arthritis. But we see many patients starting to develop arthritis during the post-Covid phase. -19,” he said as quoted by the Times of India.

He said this condition can even occur when there is no infection in the body. According to him, it is not because of the Covid-19 drug but the changes in the body’s immunity due to the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is responsible for the incidence of arthritis.

If you experience knee or joint pain for more than four weeks after recovery, you should consult a doctor for further treatment.

Consultant rheumatology from India, Dr. Saurabh Chahande said that the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes rheumatic disorders in many patients, so the possibility of an increase in rheumatoid arthritis after Covid-19 should not be ignored.

Joint pain management

Joint pain or arthritis refers to a variety of conditions that involve pain and inflammation in the joints. Doctors can prescribe medication to relieve pain from arthritis, but before that, there are natural ways that patients can do it.

First, manage weight. Your weight can have a big impact on arthritis symptoms. Excess body weight puts more stress on your joints, especially your knees, hips and feet.

Reducing stress on joints by losing weight can help improve mobility, reduce pain and prevent future joint damage.

Second, get enough exercise. These activities can also manage your weight, keeping your joints flexible and strengthening the muscles around your joints.

Third, try doing warm and cold therapy to help relieve arthritis pain and inflammation. Warm treatment can be with a warm bath for example in the morning to help relieve stiffness.
