Tips for coughing and runny nose

Great phone action and live chat with prism: Can I distinguish a normal cold from a corona infection? When should i go to the doctor? What strengthens my immune system? Ask – our four experts will give you tips and answers.

This winter everything is different. The classic symptoms of a flu-like infection could also be a corona infection. Their most common symptoms include fever, cough, joint and limb pain, shortness of breath, loss of smell and taste, sore throat, headache, nausea and diarrhea. If in doubt, it is always advisable to consult your family doctor. With a normal cold, the symptoms only last a few days. Those affected usually have no fever. What then provides relief is a lot of sleep, enough drinking and going to bed. This is usually sufficient for a normal infection.

The best way to protect the body from viruses and bacteria is a strong immune system. Fresh fruits and vegetables are considered good cold killers. Drinking a lot also keeps the mucous membranes moist and prevents cold bacteria from spreading unhindered. Really good: exercise in the fresh air for half an hour a day. Last but not least, hand hygiene is an effective protection against infections. Thorough hand washing or – if it is not possible – hand cleaning with wet wipes prevent colds. Cleaning the smartphone should also not be forgotten.
