Cleveland (AP) – Music stars like Tina Turner, Carole King and Jay-Z have made it into the rock & roll hall of fame.

In addition, musician Todd Rundgren and the bands Foo Fighters and The Go-Go’s will be included this year, as announced by the Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. They had been selected from a group of 16 candidates. The artists are scheduled to be officially introduced at a ceremony in Cleveland on October 30th.
The Düsseldorf electronic band Kraftwerk is also to receive the special “Early Influence Award”, which honors artists whose music and style had an influence on the rock scene. Kraftwerk had been nominated for inclusion in the Hall of Fame six times since 2003, but did not make it into the final round.
More than 1200 musicians, musicologists and other members of the industry decide on the selection. The voices of fans are also included. The condition for inclusion in the Hall of Fame is that the first album must be at least 25 years ago.
