In a graphic of systemically relevant professions, the cleaner was the only headscarf. The “Zeit im Bild” editorial team later apologized: “Unintentionally serving prejudices”.
The editors of “Zeit im Bild” apologized for a graphic that was shown on the ORF news program on Saturday. It dealt with systemically relevant professions, represented in pictograms by seven people. These included medical staff, parcel delivery staff, a woman with a supermarket cash register and a female figure with a mop and headscarf. She was the only figure with a headscarf. Criticism was voiced on social media.
once again a clichéd picture ????
I am a teacher, my sister an architect, a friend lawyer, a doctor, a psychotherapist, a cashier, a supervisor, a leisure teacher …… and yes, we all wear a headscarf #orf # zib1 https://t.co/RMXXee5vn2– Melek A (@ melek68497931) May 30, 2020

The ORF commented on this criticism on Sunday: The graphic “unintentionally served prejudices and should not have gone on the air”, said the official Twitter account of ORF. “The ZiB editorial team accepts the criticism and apologizes for it.”
A graphic used yesterday in the ZIB caused criticism. This graphic has unintentionally served prejudices and should not have gone on the air. The #ZIB-Editorial accepts the criticism and apologizes for it.
