The theme of the tenth edition is Freedom, because this year it is 75 years ago that the Netherlands was liberated. “The theme of freedom is of all times and therefore very relevant,” says narrator De Mol about the theme.
“Looking at your vulnerable fellow human beings is certainly something that is very dear to me. This theme emphasizes that. I think The Passion a great project and I am really looking forward to it. “
The Passion was viewed by just under 2.4 million people last year, while the previous year saw more than 3 million people.
The tenth edition of The Passion takes place in Roermond and is organized by the broadcasters EO and KRO-NCRV. Edwin Jonker played the role of Jesus in 2019 and Edsilia Rombley could be seen as Maria.
