Indeed, the National Assembly has just asked all of our elected officials by email to restrict their use of applications foreigntargeting TikTok as a priority, but also Instagram, WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc. If the use of these apps is however not prohibited, elected officials are asked to extreme vigilance
in order to limit their use
in particular for anything that may concern the dissemination of sensitive or confidential information.
Indeed, in the email sent, we can read: Declared as used for commercial purposes and customer profiling, all of your data is held by the companies responsible for these applications. These companies depend on an extraterritorial right to Europe which is largely to the detriment of French users and this data can in particular be transferred to the benefit of foreign intelligence services.

In order to mitigate any risk of leakage of sensitive information abroad, it is recommended the use of the French application Wimi – Project Management.
