Three residents of the municipality of Epe have been diagnosed with a coronavirus (COVID-19).

EPE- Corona virus infection (COVID-19) has been detected in three residents of the municipality of Epe. GGD Noord- en Oost-Gelderland investigates who the patients have had contact with. The purpose of this contact investigation is to inform people who may be at risk. Good hygiene is very important for people who have had contact with the patients. They must stay at home if they have complaints. Mayor Tom Horn was immediately informed about the infections by the director of the GGD. “Of course it is shocking now that the coronavirus has also reached our municipality. My thoughts go first to the 3 infected inhabitants and their immediate family. I wish the patients a lot of improvement and strength. ”

The mayor is happy to make a further appeal: “Let’s continue to use our common sense and, above all, monitor the measures taken by RIVM. These are necessary to stem the further spread of the virus. We really have to stick to it, for ourselves and for the people around us. ” Horn adds, “Let’s take special care of people who are vulnerable. Think of the elderly, of people who live alone. We must avoid physical contact with them and keep our distance. But we can be close to them in other ways. Let’s call more often now and ask how we can help. “

What can you do yourself?

You can take measures yourself to prevent further spread of the coronavirus. The main measures are as follows.

• Wash your hands regularly and well with soap and water.
• Cough and sneeze into the inside of your elbow.
• Use tissue paper and throw it away immediately after use.
• Don’t shake hands.
