Two journalists and a photojournalist were detained by police at 9.20pm last night in Sofia. The reason is a scandal in front of a newspaper. The three beat a security guard at a building located on GS Rakovski, the Ministry of Interior confirmed to Dir.bg. According to unofficial information, the bullies were drunk.
For his part, the security guard reported the case to the police. A police patrol arrived on the scene and found the three journalists there – two men and a woman. A scandal with the police followed, the reporter attacked a law enforcement officer. The police officers were hit on the head and chest. The victims were examined in a hospital. Two more patrols were called on the spot, and finally the three were taken to the 5th police station because of their aggressive behavior. One of the detained men was later released.
The case is under investigation.
A report on the materials collected on the initiated pre-trial proceedings is to be submitted to the prosecutor’s office.
