Three Paris SG players have tested positive for the coronavirus, the club confirmed on Wednesday, and should therefore miss PSG’s first game in Ligue 1 this season in Lens on September 10.
“Three PSG players are confirmed positive for the Sars CoV2 test and are subject to the appropriate health protocol. All players and staff will continue to perform tests during the coming days,” wrote the Parisian club on Twitter, without specifying the identity of infected players. According to our colleagues from L’Equipe, the three players are Neymar, Di Maria and Paredes.
The players concerned were on vacation on the Spanish island of Ibiza.
According to the current Professional Football League (LFP) health protocol, players who test positive must remain in quarantine for 14 days.
The current protocol also specifies that from four cases detected over eight rolling days within the workforce or management, the holding of collective training is no longer possible, which may then result in the postponement of met. Thus, the PSG match in Lens on September 10 does not currently seem to be called into question.
After the trip to Lens, the Parisians continue with the reception of Marseille on September 13.
