Three inmates of a Benedictine monastery in Eruku, Kwara State, north-central Nigeria have been abducted by assailants, one of whom is a first-year trainee and two are postulants. It was on the 17th of October that a group of armed Fulani herdsmen attacked the monastery and abducted these three brothers.
News of the abduction of three Benedictine brothers comes a day after the release of three nuns who were abducted from the south-eastern state of Ebonyi. The abduction and subsequent bargaining for them is becoming a regular occurrence in Nigeria, reports the news agency Fidesz.
In Kwara State, the abduction and subsequent release of the wife and two children of Soliu Ayanshola, the MP representing the Moro local constituency, on October 16th, made headlines in the media. Later, the police arrested five of the abductees
