Dario Cologna reached his first goal in stage 6 of the Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme. In the classic sprint, the Graubünden qualified as 29th of the prologue in extremis for the quarterfinals.
The four-time tour winner, who is currently ninth overall, saved a reserve of three hundredths to 31st place across the finish line and will now win at least a few bonus seconds. Ueli Schnider also reached the knockout stages two ranks ahead of Cologna. As expected, Norway’s Johannes Hösflot Klaebo had the best time.
The only remaining Swiss woman Laurien van der Graaff had to tremble less among the women. The 15th sprint specialist lost almost five seconds to the fastest qualifying Jessica Diggins from the USA.
