Three dealers, minors, were arrested last weekend in Tournai. Two of the traffickers were placed on Tuesday in IPPJ, we learned from the Tournai prosecution.
The three suspects were spotted on Sunday in Tournai by a police patrol in the Tournaisis area. During a check, the police found 75g of heroin on them. This drug was intended for resale. “These three miners worked in Tournai for a network. These are three young Frenchmen aged 17, domiciled in Fontainebleau (F). The formula is now well known. Minors come from France with drugs to Tournai, then look for a place of resale in a house or an apartment, what is called accommodation. Previously, hosting was often a drug addict who offered free narcotics. Today, the person who hosts and organizes the sale at his home does so for money. This person is also liable, in criminal court, to a heavy penalty“, said Frédéric Bariseau, 1st deputy public prosecutor for the King of Tournai, on Tuesday.
The three minors were brought before a youth judge in Tournai on Tuesday. The oldest, who will soon be 18, has been placed in a closed IPPJ center (public youth protection institution). A second minor was placed in an open IPPJ center. After hearing, the third was released.
