Three people were taken into custody after a man had a policewoman in the French town of Rambouillet this afternoon stabbed to death. They come from the perpetrator’s environment, a source about the investigation reports to AFP news agency.
The perpetrator is a 36-year-old Tunisian, Jamel G. He came to France in 2009 and received a residence permit in 2019. He was not known to the police or security forces. In the attack, the police shot him.
House search
In 2015 G. moved to Rambouillet, some 50 kilometers southwest of Paris. His house has been searched.
Earlier in the evening, a search was also carried out southeast of Paris, where G. arrived in 2009, French media report.
The national police are mourning the murder of their colleague Stéphanie, the service reports Twitter. “We share the immense grief of her family and colleagues.”
