DARMSTADT / FRANKFURT – A 25-year-old taxi driver was attacked in Darmstadt late on Friday evening. The police reported on Saturday morning.
The taxi driver had previously driven passengers from Frankfurt to Darmstadt in Goethestrasse. After that, he actually wanted to drive back to Frankfurt at 11:15 p.m. Then, however, he saw three men on the side of the road who waved to the taxi driver. According to the police, one of the men then stood on the driver’s side, another on the passenger side of the taxi, while the third man got into the back seat of the taxi and held a knife to the driver’s neck. The armed perpetrator then asked the taxi driver to give him the wallet.
According to the police, the perpetrators were able to steal several hundred euros in cash in this way. The perpetrators then fled in the direction of Heidelberger Strasse.
The as yet unknown perpetrators are between 20 and 25 years old. The search by the police, which was initiated immediately, was unsuccessful. Criminal Investigation Department took over the investigation. According to the police, no more detailed descriptions of the fugitive perpetrators are currently available.
