Threat of explosions in Poland, evacuation of several state institutions – Abroad – News

The Civil Chamber of the court was scheduled to issue guidelines on mortgage loans in foreign currencies, mainly in Swiss francs, on Tuesday.

According to the press service of the Supreme Audit Office, people have been evacuated from the head office, as well as several offices in the regions, due to the threat of an explosion.

The building of the National Council of Justice has also been evacuated, the media reported.

“In response to information sent by e-mail that bombs had been placed in the Supreme Court building, the first president of the Supreme Court ordered people to be evacuated from the building,” the court said.

The Supreme Court hearing, which has already been postponed twice, is awaited with great interest, as it will adopt guidelines on how courts should handle foreign currency borrowing cases.

Thousands of Poles took out mortgages in Swiss francs more than a decade ago because of low interest rates, but later, as the zloty depreciated, their spending rose. Many have sued the bank.
