Thousands protested in France today against the authorities’ plans to access restaurants and cultural spaces only for those who have been vaccinated or have recently tested negative for COVID-19. The protests also led to clashes between the participants and the police. The police used tear gas to scatter the demonstrators in several French cities, including the capital Paris and Lyon, AFP reported.

The measures announced on Monday, were part of President Emmanuel Macron’s experience to fight a new wave of the virus. However, critics say the measures discriminate against those who do not want to be vaccinated and are a dictatorship.
