NOS Nieuws•vandaag, 17:16

About 2,500 people searched for missing Yoran Krol in Sleeuwijk in Brabant today, but the 16-year-old boy was not found. The police report this. The teen disappeared three weeks ago. His bicycle and jacket were found earlier.

According to the organization coordinating the search, the Missing Coordination Platform (CPV), 2,500 volunteers helped with the search. The volunteers were divided into 650 groups that searched along the water near the Merwede Bridge.

The volunteers, who had to be at least 18 years old, set out with a cattle prod, a vest and coordination points. The police also cooperated in the search.

Yoran’s black bicycle was found three weeks ago near the Merwede Bridge. Volunteers today searched a radius of 25 kilometers around that location. Previous police searches turned up nothing. Yesterday, the boy’s coat was found in the water near Papendrecht in South Holland, about 20 kilometers away.

“Nightmare”

An aunt of the missing Yoran said otherwise Broadcasting Brabant that the family is “in a nightmare and a rollercoaster”. She was impressed by the high turnout. “That means a lot to us.” The family hopes that the uncertainty will end soon.

Yoran was last seen at a youth center in Almkerk on the night of December 23 to 24. His bicycle was found about 12 kilometers from that center.
