Around 3,000 spectators watched the traditional Hoppeditz awakening on the Rathausplatz in the old town. Especially Lord Mayor Stephan Keller, who was listening on the balcony of the town hall, got his fat off. Hoppeditz also dealt against vaccination opponents and conspiracy theorists in his satirical speech. All junkies who wanted to experience the program live in the cordoned off area in front of the town hall had to meet the 2G rule, that is, be fully vaccinated or have recovered.
