LINZ. Thomas Ziegler, Managing Director of the Design Center Linz, was unanimously elected as the new President of the RTK Round Table Conference Hotels. The previous Vice President succeeds the long-time President Gerd Prechtl, who died in October 2020.
Prechtl had already designated Ziegler for this office together with the RTK board in the summer. In addition to the continuation of Gerd Prechtl’s successful course, Ziegler wants to advance digitization as RTK President. He mentions the expansion of the offer to include event catering and the establishment of an RTK academy as further priorities.

“Right now it is our job to encourage people. It is important to hold face-to-face events whenever and wherever possible. But the pandemic has also shown how important it is to further develop the digital rail. Here, as RTK, we want to set an example for the future with today’s hybrid event. At the same time, we have great hopes for the corona vaccination. It gives the industry reason to be optimistic, ”said the newly elected RTK President.
RTK – Round Table Conference Hotels is a working group that establishes connections with seminar hotels, congress centers and event locations and with all those who plan events. The general assembly took place in the Design Center Linz as a hybrid meeting with participants on site and numerous members who were virtually connected.
