The festive program will begin with an operetta by Johann Strauss Bat, which will be available from 13 to 27 December. It is a story about a luxurious and intoxicating world, full of brilliance and fun, flirtation, intrigue and misunderstandings. At the ball organized by Count Orlovsk, the wealthy Gabriel von Eisenstein fascinates with a charming stranger, without even realizing that the mask hides his wife Rosalind. Viewers will be offered Bat recording of the premiere with subtitles in Latvian. The performance was created by conductor Jānis Liepiņš and director Edmunds Freibergs. The main roles are Margarita Vilsone, Jānis Apeinis, Inga Šļubovska-Kancēviča and Raimonds Bramanis.
From December 20 to January 3, Peter Tchaikovsky’s ballet, which is especially loved by children, will captivate the feeling of celebration. The choreographer of the production is Aivars Leimanis, at the conductor’s desk – Mārtiņš Ozoliņš.
From December 27 to January 10, spectators will be invited to the sparkling concert of Gadumi at the Opera. Taking into account this year’s special situation, the entire Latvian National Opera and Ballet Hall will become the concert playground – the artists will be in the seats! The solo atmosphere will be enchanted by the soloists of the Latvian National Opera – Inga Šļubovska-Kancēviča, Jūlija Vasiljeva, Raimonds Bramanis, Mihails Čuļpajevs and Egils Siliņš – and an orchestra conducted by Mārtiņš Ozoliņš, offering pearls of opera music and the most beautiful operas. The concert will feature music by Joaquino Rossini, Gaetano Donicetti, Luigi Arditi, Stanislao Gastaldon, Rouger Leonkavallo, Ferenc Lehar, Johann Strauss and Karl Milleker.
