1. Romantic house
“A nostalgic place for me The James Ensor House. As a child I already visited it in primary school, but the renovated house is even more beautiful. That building has been beautifully renovated. Peter and I love culture and so we still enjoy coming to the museum. Definitely a romantic getaway for us.”

2. Straight from the field
“Like most people, I regularly go to the supermarket to do my shopping. My mom lives in Zulte and there is an organic farm nearby: The Sun Coulter. When I’m in the area I definitely pop into their adjoining little shop to buy some fresh veggies. Those are delicious. In the summer months we also pick fruit at a picking farm.”

3. Cup of love
“Charlie’s has been voted the best coffee bar in Belgium. Although there is so much more than coffee. They’re in an old mansion, and I love that alone. I love such authentic houses. Their breakfasts or lunches are also very tasty. Two houses away they have a B&B, where you can also get that delicious coffee. When I’m in Antwerp, there’s not a single time I don’t stop by.”

4. Meeting spot
“My husband Peter and I met in Ostend. A special place and also my hometown. We now live half an hour away, but you will still find me there a lot. The most beautiful part of the beach is located at Kris Martin’s artwork: Altar. It’s like a frame where you can take pictures. A little further on there is a similar frame with a quote from me: ‘When I smell the Ostend sea, I’m at home’.”

5. Married to Italy
“I got married in Italy. With a few who couldn’t be there, we went to the restaurant afterwards Marina to celebrate. They have been around for 45 years and have moved to the Oosteroever. It’s slowly getting very hip there. When we have something to celebrate, Peter takes me here. He knows I think this is a cool thing.”

6. Cozy overnight stay
“Recently my husband and I went to a nice B&B: ADA. Our children gave us a voucher for a restaurant in Antwerp, so we took time off and made time for each other and an overnight stay. We love to do that, so usually give the kids similar gifts. Peter and I are less fans of a large hotel and appreciate warmth and coziness. The picture is right here.”

7. Valentine’s Day Shopping
“Bee Duka Moodstore the atmosphere is right. It’s a concept store of my best friend, Katrien, and they’re in a nice old Bruges house. There is nice music playing and there is a wonderful scent from the candles. They have clothing but also interior items. Everything that is there has an ethically responsible story. Together with Katrien, I already went to Paris and Copenhagen to look for more unique pieces, such as gems, for her shop.”

8. On the wish list
“Of course my husband and I are away from Italy and there is still a lot to discover. Sardinia is one of the five blue zones where people stay healthy for a super long time, but I have never visited one of those five regions. Costa Rica is also part of it, but we will start with Sardinia.”
