This is what the new iBroadcast will look like. Czech Television will launch it on December 6 – AVmania.cz

Next Monday starts new stage of iBroadcasting. After years of packing up new functions on the old foundation, the Czech Television online video library will see a completely redesigned platform that should be clearer and more reliable for viewers.

The core of the current iVys broadcasting system was developed in 2009, as a monolithic unit, to which various functional parts were gradually added according to current needs. For example, changing the player, implementing a DRM – copyright protection system, or solving new possibilities associated with the Olympic Games, when we needed to handle parallel live broadcasting on ten online channels with a flexible program,Says Marek Doležel, Executive Director for New Media.

The new iVys broadcast will be a modular system with dozens of interconnected parts, which means, among other things, that not all of them will be available from 6 December. The first phase will bring a new look to the site, the player and also a redesign of the content catalog, which will be divided according to genre, theme, basic audience and other categories. Following the example of other services, Czech Television also wants to bring a curatorial selection of programs.

In the next phases, iVys broadcast will receive a new mobile and TV application, a redesigned HbbTV environment and, finally, a new user account management with additional functions. Television director Petr Dvořák says that the gradual upgrade will take place until the end of 2022.

In the past, Czech Television broadcast some programs only on the Internet, because it did not have the space or license to broadcast on a regular network. However, he expects to produce or buy programs exclusively for internet broadcasting with the new iVysí broadcast. CT recorded the documentaries RapStory, Into the Wild and the entertainment program Critique of the Future. Abroad, she bought the rights to the films We Are Ours, A House Full of Fear and Momo.
