LG announced a few days ago that it will introduce a new design language and showed the first sketches. Shortly before the weekend we still found outthat the first smartphone will be called “LG Velvet”.
In the meantime, pictures of this smartphone have appeared that look very much like LG’s marketing pictures. On the pictures you can also see that a normal LG Velvet and a LG Velvet ThinQ are planned. I would have hoped that the ThinQ would also disappear with the new beginning.
The LG Velvet will probably be a smartphone of the upper middle class, which means: There is no Snapdragon 865, but the Snapdragon 765 and I also expect some other high-end specifications such as a good display, enough RAM or a solid main camera.
The new design strongly reminds me of Sony’s current design language for the Xperia series, it also seems to be a rather tall but not as wide device. The focus of this model will be on the design, according to LG.
