Just in time for the half-time whistle in the top leagues in Europe, the experts from the football observatory CIES scrolled through the statistics and put together a top 11 for each of the major football leagues. Today: France.
When putting together the team, the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) is guided by CIES Performance Index from Opta. In short: beautiful goals do not count – only those who are statistically triumphant make it into the top 11.
In the first half of the 2021/22 season, the super-rich Paris Saint-Germain dominates, as is so often the case. However, Ligue 1 is the most diverse top 11 of the European leagues with players from a total of six different clubs.
