From Love Actually to Elf, we all have our favorite movies that we repeat every Christmas and the Queen Isabel II is no different. According to actor Brian Blessed, the monarch is a huge fan of Flash Gordon, the science fiction work that he himself starred in in 1980.
Blessed assured for Yahoo Movies that the 95-year-old Queen of England “watches the movie every Christmas with her grandchildren.”

Flash Gordon is a film adaptation of an Alex Raymond comic in which Dr. Zarkov, a scientist expelled from NASA, travels in a rocket ship with young rugby player Flash Gordon and his friend Dale Arden. The three will try to save the planet from the threat of Ming, the emperor of the distant kingdom Mongo, who has launched one of its moons to crash against Earth.
