This is how the Zombie battles in Black Ops Cold War turn out

In recent weeks, Activision has presented parts of this year’s Call of Duty – called Black Ops Cold War – in turn and order. This week, the unveiling train has arrived in Zombie mode, which features both classic elements and colorful innovations.

The mode, which this time goes by the name Die Maschine, takes groups of up to four players to the happy eighties. Players enter the ranks of the elite group Requiem and must explore an ancient military bunker that houses both mysterious secrets and cruel monsters.

As for the story, developer Treyarch says fans can expect a whole new narrative with a new character gallery. The way you play has also undergone changes, with support for loadouts, an overhauled progression system and new mechanics.

For example, a new “Exfil” function is introduced. This calls in a helicopter that pulls the team out, but in the minutes it takes for the help to arrive, the degree of difficulty is greatly increased. According to the developer, this will be a new way to “win” the zombie mode, and players who get out unscathed with the helicopter can expect extra rewards.

News on weapons and equipment, perks and upgrades via the Pack-a-punch machines are also waiting. You can read more about the mode via the game’s website, where Activision will also unveil more zombie news in the near future.
