RIYADH – Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) delivers response to nuclear and missile programs Iran . He said Riyadh was seeking a serious approach to dealing with the issue and its consequences for regional stability.

“The kingdom stresses the importance of dealing seriously and effectively with Iran’s nuclear and missile programs in a way that contributes to achieving regional and international security and stability,” Prince MBS said at the annual Gulf summit on Wednesday.

“It also emphasizes the principles of good neighbors, respecting UN resolutions, and saving the region from all destabilizing activities,” he said. Al Arabiya, Thursday (16/12/2021).

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also touched on the Vienna talks to revive the 2015 Iran nuclear deal which had been broken. According to him, Tehran’s “unyielding attitude” has been worrying.

“The Gulf wishes for a long and comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran and for negotiations to be successful,” he said.

“We want a natural relationship with Iran and it depends on it” [kesepakatan nuklir], ”Said Prince Faisal.

He also stressed that the Gulf states are closely monitoring the progress of the Vienna talks and reiterated the Gulf’s stance on the need to be included in them.

The closing statement of the Gulf summit condemned Iran’s “malign activities” in the region, particularly its support for Yemen’s Houthi militia which it used in attacks on Saudi Arabia.

Gulf states have long said that Iran needs to stop its volatile activities in the region by providing financial and military support to its network of proxy militias across the Middle East.
