On the first weekend of April to the sledding hill?

Next weekend it is still possible throughout the country.

The back winter that arrived on Wednesday morning brought heavy snowfall to southern Finland. It seems that the snow will also stay on the ground, at least over the weekend. You can find out from Foreca’s weather blog.

On the night before Thursday, the frost in the south will intensify to 10 degrees in some places. In the north, the frost is generally between 15 and 30 degrees.

The jump from the first day of April is a big one. That’s when the highest temperature of this year so far was measured in Helsinki: 17.7 degrees.

On Thursday, it will be sunny and a little windy in most parts of the country. During the day, the temperature is close to zero in the south, in most parts of the country between 1 and 10 degrees below zero.

Weekend

On Friday, snow showers will arrive in the southern and central parts of the country and the southeast wind will intensify. In the south-west, the rain starts already in the morning. During the day, the rains will spread widely in the western and southern parts of the country, says Foreca.

On Saturday, the snow showers will move over Finland to the east.

Up to five centimeters of snow can accumulate in the central parts of Finland. In the south and central Finland, the temperature can already rise to the plus side on Saturday, and even in the North, the severest frosts will ease.

On Sunday, low pressure will sweep over Finland again.

Low pressure may bring heavy rains, but the forecast for the rain area is not yet certain. It can snow in the north, in the middle parts of the country there is a chance for both snow and water, possibly also freezing rain. In the south, the rains come as water.
