Cars, condominiums, gas prices, short-time working: a series of new items affecting the household budget came into effect in June, some linked to the health crisis, others planned for a longer time.

But the Covid-19 epidemic and its consequences have also led the government to delay the implementation of several other measures, such as the introduction of the “public service for the payment of maintenance payments”.   • Reinforcement of aid for less polluting vehicles

Several measures to support the auto industry were announced on May 26 by the head of state, Emmanuel Macron. Among them: the increase from 6,000 euros to 7,000 euros in the bonus paid to individuals buying a 100% electric vehicle with a maximum price of 45,000 euros. And the implementation of a bonus of 2,000 euros for the acquisition of a plug-in hybrid vehicle costing a maximum of 50,000 euros and having more than 50 kilometers of autonomy.

Above all, the device of the conversion bonus (“scrapping bonus”, affected when one replaces an old vehicle by a more recent one, on condition of respecting certain criteria, in particular of income) evolves. The bounty “For all the households concerned increases to 3,000 euros for the purchase of a thermal vehicle and to 5,000 euros for an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle (range greater than 50 kilometers).

The number of households eligible for the premium must also increase “To cover almost three quarters of the population”, according to the government, through an increase in the ceiling of the reference tax income allowing to benefit from the device. Warning, “These exceptional measures will only be applied to the first 200,000 conversion premiums”, specifies the government.

These new features must come into force on 1er June, it was announced; the amending texts were however not published when this article was written.

  • Gas: the fall in regulated prices continues

For the sixth consecutive month, regulated prices (excluding tax) for gas fell in June, on average by 2.8%. “This decrease is 0.7% for customers who use gas for cooking, 1.5% for those who have dual use, cooking and hot water, and 2.9% for homes that heat gas ”, specifies the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), which adds that since the beginning of the year this average tariff has lost a total of about 25%.
