This baby came alone by plane from Kabul to Norway. Parents have to go on a long journey to be reunited.

The baby on Hedda Boretti’s lap is one of 28 single, Afghan children who were evacuated to Norway. A long and dangerous journey awaits parents who want to apply for reunification. But one obstacle has been removed.

Hedda Boretti from Bufetat Region East took care of the little Afghan child at Gardermoen. – The baby cried. It only met strangers, was tired and weary, she says.

The small, Afghan child was the very last to be evacuated from Kabul by a Norwegian plane.

On the evening of Friday 27 August, the baby was carried into Norwegian soil as the first passenger. A man had had the baby on his lap during the entire flight. The child was the only one who arrived without parents on this plane.
